Notes: Abraham figured quite extensively in the early history of Richland district as it is now called, having engaged to some extent as a scout among the Indians, by whom he received a wound in the hip; its effect was prevented from becoming fatal by a book which he carried in his pocket. This happened in early life. He followed farming as an occupation. He was the father of eleven children, six sons and five daughters. Pensioned. Listed in D.A.R. Note: It appears that there are several children in the home of Edward and Margaret by 1850, and by 1870 it would appear that along with Abram there was also a Clara and two young children. Could Clara have been Abram's wife and the children his? Abram died October 7, 1872 (See Below).

There is an Elizabeth Morgan buried at Short Creek Cemetery as "wife of Edward Morgan, Sr., died May 7, 1849(?) age 41 years." If Margaret and Edward were married in 1840, then several of the children in the 1850 Census would not have been born of Margaret. Could Elizabeth Morgan have been a first wife of Edward and Margaret his second wife? Also could the death date of May 7, 1849, for Elizabeth Morgan be a mistake. Could it actually be May 7, 1839? I got this information from the Short Creek Cemetery page which does have some errors in dates and spelling of names, but is a good starting place if you can find verification.

On Tabitha's headstone in Short Creek Cemetery is written: Tabitha wife of James McColloch died July 25, 1872 in her 55th year. If this information is true then Tabitha was born in 1817.
