INCEREST gratitude to cousins Lisa (Crooks) Zugner, Schenectady, New York and Samuel McColloch, of Katy, Texas.  Without their generosity and many kindnesses several of my questions would not have been answered. They both have been working on the McColloch family genealogy for much longer than I.

Lisa, has sent many pictures from her visits to the Wheeling, West Virginia area with her husband Leo. You will find many of Leo's photos in these web pages. They have given me the chance to see what I may not get the chance to see for myself.

Sam, has spent many years gathering and preserving large amounts of McColloch memorabilia. He is a diligent conservator of clippings, photos and many historical documents. We are all fortunate that Sam has compiled a book: McColloch Family of Ohio County, W. Va.: Samuel W. McColloch, 1999. This book was updated in 2001 and  for 2003. Also, thanks to Sam and his family, many of these historical documents have been entrusted to the T. W. Phillips Memorial Library, Bethany College, Bethany, West Virginia. WHAT'S NEW:

As many of you know I am inexcusably behind in posting new information and photographs. There have been many distractions this year and we are in the middle of moving at this time. We should be finished moving by October 6th and I should have my computer set up and back on line by then. After we get settled in a little bit, I will be going through everything and making the genealogy section of Lots of Sites, the main focus above everything else!

I have many credits and thank you's to be added for information that has been sent to me by more cousins. They have been unbelievably patient in waiting for their hard work to be added to these pages, so I MUST get that information posted.

I am being hosted at a new server with lots of space and the photograph album will be moved to Lots of Sites and will no longer be hosted by Bravenet. More photographs will be added and there will be no more Bravenet ads. 

If you haven't already done so, be sure to see the John and Rachel (Humphrey) Beck family photo generously contributed by Elizabeth "Betty" Miller. Betty has also contributed the photos of the Beck family headstones and genealogy that will be added in short order. I must apologize to Betty for not being able to post this information sooner.

Our Direct Ancestor  'COL' John McColloch – b. 1726, in Gloucester Co., New Jersey, d. 1778, Ft. Pitt, Allegheny Co., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our family is directly descended from him through his son Abraham McColloch and Alcy Boggs, through their son Abraham McColloch and Susan Burns, through their son James McHenry McColloch and Mary Alice Wharton, to their daughter Daphne Dale McColloch who married John N.
