HANNAH McCOLLOCH AND JOSEPH INSKEEP

6.  McCOLLOCH, Hannah – b. October 15, 1737, Gloucester Co., New Jersey, d. 1791, m. October 5, 1756, Gloucester Co., New Jersey, Joseph Inskeep, son of James Inskeep and Mary Miller, b. May 10, 1733, Burlington Co., New Jersey, d. 1806, Hardy County, West Virginia.

Notes:  At some point soon after Hannah and Joseph married they heard talk of a group going to settle on the South Branch of the Potomac, then Hampshire County, Virginia. Now this area is embraced by the four counties Hardy, Grant, Hampshire, and Mineral, West Virginia. With them were Josephs' younger brother, only 12 years of age if they made the journey as early as 1757, and Josephs' sister Sarah and her husband, John McCulloch. The earliest date in the land records was August 3, 1773, when Joseph leased 301 acres of land from Lord Fairfax, Joseph adding to this with subsequent purchases.

The Inskeeps became a prominent family in Marlton, New Jersey. See Joseph's, Uncle John Inskeeps house here.
