in Hampshire Co., then Virginia (now W. Va.). From Mrs.
Mahala Jacob McColloch of Short Creek, W. Va. for Mrs. Homer S.
Swingle, Auburn, Alabama, 1946.

SR. was a CAPT. OF HAMPSHIRE CO., Militia in 1763. He was
appointed a COLONEL by King of England in 1768. John and Sarah
MCCOLLOCH died at Fort Pitt in 1777 or 8.

EBENEZER (above) McCOLLOCH was born in Ohio Co., Va., Nov 1796,
married Sarah Vause Fox, Feb. 5, 1833 in Brooke Co., W. Va. - She
was born near Moorefield, Va. (now W. Va.) in 1812. She had
come to live with her Grandfather "Col." William Vause.
She died in Groveport, Ohio Sept. 21, 1906 - aged 94 yrs. - at the home of her daughters
Ann and Rebecca McColloch. She was buried in
Shortcreek Cemetery - the oldest Methodist Church Cemetery in West
Virginia's "panhandle".

There is an inconsistency is with
"Abram" Abraham, son of
Abraham and Alcy Boggs. From all of the records that are in my
family it appears that he did marry later in life to Susan Burns,
daughter of Garret Burns and Rebecca Beck of John Beck and Rebecca
Miller, and it appears that Susan Burns was Abraham's only wife.
In fact this is probably just an overlooked entry or a typo as I know that
Mahala was up on her information especially regarding Abraham and Susan.
The only Amy that I have found so far was Amy Rebecca Rickards who
married John Samuel McColloch the son of John Waterman McColloch
and Ella Welshans.
I had earlier expressed a question regarding Abraham and Alcy's
daughter Sarah as to if she was married or not. Thanks to Sam
McColloch, Mahala's Grandson I was able to find a double entry in
my data. It is correct that Abe and Alcy's daughter Sarah never
married. Many thanks to Sam for his help with this information.
