Joplin Young Man Takes Webb City Girl as
Bride
Fifty Guests Attend
Wedding.
Miss Daphne D. McColloch daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
J. M. McColloch of West Joplin Street and John N. Davis of
Joplin, were married Wednesday night at 8 o'clock at the bride's
home. Rev. Dean C. Dutton, pastor of the First M E church, was
the officiating clergyman. The bridal party was composed of Miss
McColloch, Mr. Davis, Miss Zona Brewer of Carterville, as brides
maid, Chas. Redmond of Joplin, best man, Little Miss Helen
Wharten of Carthage as flower girl and Miss Nellie Hardesty,
played the wedding march.
It was a green and white wedding, smilax, potted
palms and ferns, enterwoven with cut flowers formed the
decorations and the wedding supper which followed the ceremony
was carried out in the color scheme.
The bride was becomingly gowned in a pretty white
Paris muslin gown. Miss Brewer wore pale blue crepe de chene,
while the gentlemen wore the conventional black.
About fifty guests were present and the presents
received by the happy couple were many and handsome, including
cut glass, silver ware, china, furniture and linens. Mr. and
Mrs. Davis will be at home to their friends at 1405, West Austin
street, after Sunday, April 11th.
