The Webb City, Missouri, Home of
Elizabeth (Bruner) Wharton and
her daughter, Mary Alice McColloch

Webb City home of James and Alice McColloch

The picture above is of the house at 1129 W. Broadway, Webb City, Missouri, where Mary Alice (Wharton) McColloch and her mother Elizabeth Ellen (Bruner) Wharton lived when they moved from the Wharton farm some time after 1920. The "Two Grandmas" were both widowed by 1920, Silas W. Wharton having died in 1913, and James M. McColloch died in 1919.

The above picture was taken about 1928 to 1930. Posing on the porch is Leila Elizabeth Davis, grand daughter of Jim and Mary McColloch, through their daughter Daphne Dale (McColloch) Davis.

In 1985 my mother, Leila E. (Davis) Koscove, and I went to Picher, Oklahoma, for her "Class Reunion". We rented a car in Joplin and on our way to Miami, and Picher, we drove through Webb City and stopped on W. Broadway to find the house still standing on the corner and being lived in.

Above picture is copy of original photo in my posession.
